| Given that this was a teabag tea, made out of fannings, and the individual teabags weren't even sealed in paper, this tea was remarkably fresh and complex. The tea brews a dark reddish brown. The flavor is mellow and the aroma earthy; it reminds me a lot of a keemun. There's a little bitterness and some astringency in the aftertaste, but overall this is a smoother tea. I used one teabag for a single cup and steeped for four minutes with boiling water. At 100 teabags for under $4, it's hard to beat the value. This is no outstanding tea, but it's without a doubt the best black tea I've ever had from a teabag at this price. |
