Green Tea: Darjeeling Green Tea
Last Updated: Apr. 26, 2010
Darjeeling green tea is a newer tradition and less well-known than Darjeeling black tea, but is more widely-known and has a longer history of production than Darjeeling oolong and white teas.It is difficult to generalize about the characteristics of Darjeeling green tea, as they are quite diverse. But Darjeeling green teas do have a particular character that makes them distinct from other styles of green tea, which is why RateTea.net classifies them as a style of their own. These teas often share certain characteristics of aroma in common with other Darjeelings, in contrast to other green teas.
Unlike black teas, Darjeeling green teas are usually not classified by flush, even though the harvest times of these teas differs greatly and affects the character of the finished product just as with black tea.
