Commercial Description
A smooth, medium bodied BOP Darjeeling notable for its pleasant, lingering flavor. The fresh, floral note and the hint of citrus add depth and balance. Steep for approximately 1½ minutes to bring out the gentle pungency.

2¼ g/cup, 212ºF, 1-2 min.

Disappointing for a first flush and even among broken-leaf Darjeelings. There's a heaviness to the flavor, even though it is smooth. I'm detecting neither the "fresh floral note" nor the "hint of citrus".
I'm not sure what to recommend with the brewing; if you go longer this tea becomes heavy, although not too bitter. If you go with less time, the aroma is too weak.
I did notice, however, one redeeming aspect of this tea. It goes extremely well with salty and spicy foods. While I don't enjoy drinking it on my own, I'd recommend trying it if you have some of this tea on hand. It's quite remarkable!
Among Upton's offerings of broken-leaf, high-grown teas, I prefer the basic Darjeeling blend TD06, and I much prefer TM20.
