| Very different from the purple-leaf variety, which I like better. This has a very strong metallic character in the taste, and the aroma suggests a metallic character too. The aroma is more similar to the purple variety, perhaps less of a cinnamon character and more clove. I've also tried the green-leafed Tulsi from Mountain Rose Herbs. Theirs is more bitter, but has less of the metallic character. I find this tea makes me thirsty when I drink it. I don't like the way I feel after drinking it as much as the purple variety from Upton. I recommend using less leaf--only about one teaspoon is good--otherwise this tea is too strong. |
