This was a very light brew with a bright golden color, and it smelled immediately of mint and other subtle floral and green fragrances. The sense of mint carried into the taste and mouthfeel, and it was never earthy or grassy. Later in the cup, I noticed a bit of the scent of asparagus. It was a really soft, beautiful tea with a gradually building astringency that made the cup very refreshing. The overall sense was an elegant balance of many subtle flavors and aromas that I was never able to tease apart. I loved this tea, and found it fared well through three steepings.

1st steep: 2.5g/6oz@170°F for 3min with 2nd and 3rd steeps at 3:30 and 4:00 respectively.

[Update 2014-10-20: I made a cold brewed tea from this with the original plan of letting it steep for 8 hours. However, I forgot to strain the leaves from it before heading to work and as a result I have a 24-hour steeped tea with a slightly stronger astringency than the tea as I normally brew it. Grassy, herbaceous notes have been brought out, as has been an almost caramel-toned sweetness to the aftertaste. This is very drinkable, but I would like to try it at a 3rd of the total time.]

Very smooth, fresh tea. I definitely like the lighter, non-bitter taste of Darjeelings compared against regular black teas. The first cup of this one was particularly good, while the second one was slightly weaker in flavor. Still, I enjoyed the very lightly floral taste, which contributed a pleasant complexity to the cup.

I tried it again, this time with a bit of milk. They blend well together, but it's easy for the milk to overpower the delicate tea flavor. If you like tea with milk, I would suggest going easy on the amount of milk. As long as you keep this is mind, it makes a delicious latte.

Dry leaf has less aroma than the other samples from Happy Earth from this year; aroma is fresh and light like the other teas, but is more suggestive of caramel.

Upon brewing, the cup is not as obviously aromatic, but the flavor is similar. Sipping the cup, I notice pleasant floral tones, but they're fainter than in the other Happy Earth Teas. There is a hint of a certain enigmatic skunky quality, which I like, as it adds a bit of intrigue. As the flavor evolves, I notice some wintergreen notes, one of my favorite qualities in tea.

This produces a clean, cooling finish, leaving a lingering tingly quality on the palate. What started as a rather muted cup was delightful by the end. Like many of the other samples, I also enjoyed this tea more as it cooled. More so than the other four samples, I found this one to grow on me...as in I didn't like it quite as much at first, but by the end I liked it more on par with the others.

This one can be resteeped for a somewhat similar cup...although slightly thinner and slightly less aromatic, still very enjoyable.
