Feng Huang Dancong is a style of
oolong tea. Feng Huang Dancong is a "single-trunk" tea, meaning that the plant grows in a tree-like pattern with a single trunk, rather than the bushy growth habit that most tea plants have been cultivated to grow in. Although the leaf color varies somewhat, the leaves are often very dark, often darker than many black teas.
Feng Huang Dancong are available in many varieties which have a surprising amount of variability in aroma. These varieties are very old and have origins that have been traced back hundreds of years.
The tea leaves are very aromatic and the highly complex aroma is often described as resembling various flowers, fruits, and spices. Feng Huang Dancong teas can be very expensive, and is often only available in small quantities.
